Electric Universe Collective presents a sure-shot blinder of a Wednesday night at Bar Open this week with THE PRIMARY COLOUR, VIRTUAL PROXIMITY and JUXTPOSE. Headlining the night is THE PRIMARY COLOUR - all hardware drum machines, synthesisers and effects, featuring unbroken and slowly evolving performances, underpinned by a deep and constant groove. He navigates a fresh course through electronic improvisation each time he plays. In the middle, catch VIRTUAL PROXIMITY whose live show features improvisations on electronically processed saxophone, live manipulation of loops and samples, and spontaneous VeeJaying. The artists interact in the moment to produce brand new sounds on the spot, along with occasional remixes of pre-composed material. And kicking things off is Juxtpose, the production unit of Luc P. Inspiration comes from early Detroit Techno artists like Drexciya, Model500, the Underground Resistance label as well as artists such as Martyn, Burial and Four Tet.
